We’re excited to share that Nordecon, a publicly listed construction group, has partnered with Esgrid to evaluate the ESG impact of its value chain.
Nordecon is one of the largest construction groups in Estonia while also operating in Sweden and Ukraine.
Kristi Kõll, the Sustainability Specialist at Nordecon said this about the collaboration:
“For larger companies, dealing with ESG topics and preparing the necessary reports has already become an everyday task this year, and for many, it may come as a surprise just how resource-intensive this activity is. This was also a key consideration for us when deciding whether to handle everything in-house or involve competent partners at some stages of the process. Since it’s crucial for us to have a clear and thorough understanding of our value chain, i.e., the ESG starting position of our key partners, we sought a suitable solution to simplify the creation of a questionnaire to map out the current situation and to later analyse the feedback.”
“The Esgrid platform made the process more convenient for both us and our partners. The Esgrid team was proactive and available throughout the entire process. Their support in Estonian helped introduce and clarify ESG topics for our partners, many of whom hadn’t delved deeply into sustainability before. Moreover, partners received valuable insights into their own ESG standing, which allows them to take the first steps on the sustainability journey if they choose to do so. Esgrid significantly streamlined our value chain ESG assessment process.”
Oksana Tolmatšova, the CEO of Esgrid added: “The buildings and construction sector is by far the largest emitter of greenhouse gases, accounting for a staggering 37% of global emissions. Improving the sustainability of value chains is one of the most important and challenging tasks for the industry. We are very happy to support Nordecon in setting an example of an efficient and impactful sustainability management process and hope to see more construction companies follow suit.”
